Not Black Enough?

Feliz Miercoles everybody!!! For those who don’t know Spanish, that means HAPPY WEDNESDAY. We got two more days until the weekend guys. Keep Pushing! So let’s start today’s burning topic shall we.

To be black or not to be black that is the question ladies and gentlemen. We black Americans are something else. What in humanity does it mean to “not be black enough”? How much is the right amount of blackness to possess? Who are you to tell me that I don’t act like a black girl? What in the world does that even mean? I constantly hear our peers whom are African American say things like “Girl, why you act white” or “Why you talk like that”. Well girl sorry, but I choose to beat the stereotype of an angry black woman. I’m not going to let society define who I am. From my knowledge I’m pretty sure being black isn’t defined as my personality but it’s defined as the richness of my melanin.

I remember when I first started working at the courthouse I took a phone call and the woman on the phone needed to come to the courthouse physically to do what she needed to do. Guys I lie to you not this woman was like, “Girl I thought you was a boogie white woman on the phone”. At that moment I was really taken back. I sat there and just looked at her while gathering all my thoughts and finally said, “Ma’am were not here to talk about me or my race. We are here to talk about your divorce”. I’m so blessed that the good Lord has graced me with the gift of patience because man that is literally my BIGGEST PET PEEVE. We need to leave the stigma that, young black people can’t be proper, behind. I love who I am but hate who I am categorized to be.

Whether a black person talks proper or a white person talks “hood” it shouldn’t matter!!!!! Let them be! Unless someone is being blatantly racist then I’d understand that some words need to be said but until then leave people alone. There is no step by step guide on how to be black. Guys just be uniquely you! Don’t worry about what your peers say. Who cares if you’re a black person who speaks articulate? Who cares if you decide to wear conservative clothing? That is just who you choose to be and you are not any less black than I am. Take charge of your beliefs and don’t let anyone corrupt them.

Alright guys my rant is over I’m getting hungry lol. See you guys next time…be blessed…Kay’s out! Oh and of course don’t forget to LIKE, COMMENT, AND SUBSCRIBEEEEEEE!

I can totally relate to what you are saying. People hear your voice and immediately start to form an opinion. Just because you sound intellectual, you can’t be black. So not true. Regardless of your voice or the color of your skin a person should not be judged. Being smart and black sometimes you don’t fit in. What is that about????

Great topic today that needs to be discussed why does it matter we are all human at the end of the day. Every race can be proper and but that doesn’t change who we are and what we can do to change the world. We all need to just come as one race and that’s the human race. Keep it up
